Cornwall Council is a unitary authority formed in 2009. The Planning and Regeneration Service is responsible for the statutory functions as Local Planning Authority. The service includes about 350 staff. The service is responsible for a wide range of functions including development management, planning policy, building control, land charges, affordable housing, and private sector housing. The service is located within the Chief Executive Directive together with Economic Development and Localism.
