Current Planning Research at the University of Hong Kong

The Department of Urban Planning and Design employs roughly 10 academic members of staff. Research is focused on the Sustainable World Cities Programme which aims to develop analytical frameworks for comparing research on urban sustainability from around the world.

The Programme seeks to produce research that contributes to debate surrounding the development of world cities. It hopes to inform policy-making in light of the government's objective to establish Hong Kong as Asia's world city.
