Current Planning Research at the University of Cape Town

The City and Regional Planning Programme, in the School of Architecture, Planning and Geomatics, has research interests in areas such as informal settlements, planning theory, particularly in the African context, urban economic development, large city spatial planning, infrastructure, the spatial distribution of technologies, urban ecology and socio-ecological systems, different ways of knowing, community planning, participatory processes, and urban regeneration.
