Current Planning Research at the University of Cambridge
The Department of Land Economy employs over 40 teaching and research staff and research is carried out in two research groups.
The Real Estate and Urban Analysis research group (REUA) undertakes research on themes such as real estate finance, the development of land and the understanding of spatial geography and the macro-economic environment. The Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research was established in 1990 and is currently working on projects such as an investigation into economic and social impacts of housing,
The Environmental Economy and Policy research group (EEP) is made up of applied economists, lawyers and policy experts. Research involves the analysis and evaluation of environmental and agricultural policy. As part of the EEP, the Rural Business Unit undertakes research for Defra on the subjects of agricultural and horticultural economics. Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research (4CMR) also carries out research within the EEP. The Centre formulates and tests climate change mitigation strategies and processes using expertise from fields such as economics, econometrics and environmental sciences.
