Current Planning Research at University College Dublin

Research at the School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Policy is concerned with three major themes: Economy, Environmental Change and Sustainability; Governance Public Policy and Planning; and Society, Time and Place.

The Governance, Public Policy and Planning research cluster focuses on issues such as rural transformations, urban change and international relations. Key projects include:

Sustainable Rural Development

The project aims to promote best practice in the management of rural housing and provide baseline data to inform sustainable policy development in rural areas.

Urban Environment Project

The project is inter-institutional and aims to enhance understanding of the relationships between development, land-use change and economic and environmental affects on urban areas.
