Current Planning Research at Kingston University

The School of Surveying and Planning undertakes much of its research in collaboration with industry. The School has particular strengths in the areas of sustainable property, valuation and appraisal and professional education. 

The Real Estate Research Centre (RERC) is currently undertaking research in five fields:

Property appraisal and valuation techniques and methodologies

Regulatory systems, legal and professional standards framework

Commercial property markets: Analysis, operation and promotion of innovative practice

Spatial Planning and sustainable communities

Professional education and organisation of the built environment professions.

Research projects include studies of contaminated and brownfield land, taxation and fiscal incentives and the valuation of heritage assets.
