RTPI Learn

RTPI Learn, the RTPI's virtual learning environment (VLE), will be launching soon!

The new online learning portal is designed for planners by planners. It will be freely available to all RTPI members. A number of CPD courses, funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG), will be released shortly through RTPI Learn.

Take your career to the next level with RTPI Learn. Achieve your continuing professional development (CPD) objectives and update your knowledge and skills.

High quality online CPD courses are offered in a number of planning topics. The first courses cover:

Understanding development economics
Planning for climate change
Developing Local Development Framework infrastructure delivery
Empowering communities

Interactive and engaging learning will encourage you to reflect on your professional development and progress, and to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in your working practices. Each course is organised into bite-sized sections and complemented by guided activities and self-assessment tools. You can learn at your own pace in your home or office.

PDP and CPD record system

Manage your professional development plan (PDP) and CPD records through RTPI Learn. Plan your learning and development in a convenient and effective way.

The new system will support you through the whole process; from planning your professional goals, through reflecting on your learning and, finally, recording your achievements.

You can write your PDP and record your CPD using a template which will be stored in your profile. This means no more lost files or duplicates, and you can access your profile and quickly update your records anytime, anywhere. Managing your CPD has never been easier.

Social networking

Expand your professional horizons through social learning. RTPI Learn offers the opportunity to connect and interact with other planners through online groups, discussions and communities of practice. In this way, you can share your knowledge and experience and learn from others.
