Inspire East Design Review Panel opportunity

Inspire East are offering young planners in the East of England an opportunity to observe the Inspire East Design Review Panel in action at their offices in Thetford. There are four places available, the morning or the afternoon of 20 January, or the morning or the afternoon of 17 March. Applicants would need to meet the following criteria to be considered for these sessions:

  • Are a student/licentiate member of the RTPI;
  • Have either recently graduated or are undertaking a part-time planning degree;
  • Are undertaking the Assessment of Professional Competence; and
  • Have less than five years planning experience.

Expressions of interest together with preferred dates should be sent to Rob Hobbs. Further details of the Design Review Service can be found on Inspire East’s website.

Regional Events

This year we have promoted a couple of events in Norwich and one in Ipswich. The region has formed a number of sub-regional groups and volunteers always needed to help assist in events, suggest topics and venues. The sub-regions are Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk. There are also opportunities for close working between the different sub-regions, for example North Essex and Suffolk, and Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire. It is realised that the region is geographically spread out, but it was encouraging that a number of young planners from Cambridgeshire and Norfolk attended the recent APC event in Ipswich. If you would like to become involved and have any suggestions then please do let me know
