Description

Britain’s planning system largely depends on private development companies to implement its forward plans. A better understanding of the process will help planners to negotiate successful outcomes.

Key issues covered in this masterclass:

+ Schemes different developers want
+ Where you find the sales and costs data
+ The principles of a development appraisal
+ Getting the figures to add up
+ Development finance

These masterclasses are designed for:

+ Development control staff – is that developer truthful?
+ Forward planners – will our allocation ever be built?
+ Consultants – what are the financial red lines for the client?
+ Planning solicitors – why won’t they agree the wording?
+ Implementation – what s106 contributions are possible?

Key benefits

This masterclass will provide you with:

+ An overview of development firms and development finance
+ Practical experience of working up a development appraisal from inception to land valuation
+ A better understanding of the risks which face developers, and the levels of profit they seek
