South Coast Young Planners Event, Southampton - ‘The Port of Southampton: Gateway to the UK’ - in association with ABP and Adams Hendry Consulting Limited

This event offers a rare tour of this large commercial Port comparable to Heathrow in its national importance, followed by presentations from key players in port infrastructure including Associated British Ports, Southampton City Council and Adams Hendry Consulting Limited. These informal presentations will cover the day to day operation of the Port, breaking down image barriers and setting out how the future of Port infrastructure might be influenced in the context of emerging National Policy Statements. Timetable:
5pm - Meet at Port of Southampton City Cruise terminal
5.30pm - Tour of Port by Coach led by ABP official and Adams Hendry delegate
6.20pm - return to City Cruise terminal building
6.40pm - Talks by ABP Deputy Port Manager (Stephen Young), Adams Hendry Consulting Ltd (Philip Rowell) and Southampton City Council (Jeff Walters)
7.30pm onwards - convene at Joe Daflo’s bar near Southampton Central train station for buffet and drinks.
