- Description
The historic environment is an important aspect of Wales’ built fabric and a significant factor in defining local distinctiveness. The historic environment is not restricted to Listed Buildings and Conservation areas; there are large areas of historic areas which offer, or have the potential to, support the creation of quality settings and can be an important tool to support rural and urban regeneration.
The Conference will be of interest to:
- Planners working in development control and policy
- Planning consultants
- Architects and landscape architects
- Conservation officers
- Regeneration practitioners
- and those with an interest in historic renewal- Speakers & Topics
RTPI Cymru’s Spring Conference, supported by Cadw, will discuss planning for historic renewal within the Wales’ context. The programme will include speakers discussing the value of the historic environment and what this adds to the planning and regeneration efforts in Wales; speakers will also look to the proposed Welsh Heritage Bill and the process for developing this. The Conference will also hear from a range of case studies highlighting planning issues and tools and the context within which a range of different work programmes can be drawn together.
