Stephen Wilkinson, RTPI President, said:
"Our shortlisting demonstrates the professionalism and creativity of the Institute in promoting planning as a career and its value to communities and I congratulate all those involved in making them such a great success.
“During my involvement with RTPI events and the Young Planners Conference, I have seen the enthusiasm which our staff, volunteers and members have for championing the profession. They are always run effectively to high standards often within tight time and budget constraints. I am very proud of them. ”
England’s Great Places competition celebrated some of the country’s most attractive and inspiring places and the role planners played in protecting or shaping them for England's communities. Liverpool Waterfront was voted the winner in December 2015 by the public.
The RTPI Young Planners Conference is an annual event which brings together the newest members of our profession from across the UK.
The Institute is up against five other finalists in the best association conference category, including the Association for Project Management and the Association for Financial Markets in Europe. In the best PR campaign category there are four other finalists including the British Medical Association and The Bar Council. The Planner magazine is up against magazines from the Association for Project Management and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
The winners will be announced on 31 March at a ceremony attended by over 400 association professionals in London.
