RTPI helps to host Urban Thinkers Campus – members go for free!

05 April 2017

The RTPI is partnering with the International Federation of Housing and Planning and other organisations to host a three-day Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC) in Belfast to help implement the UN Habitat’s New Urban Agenda.

Creating the inclusive city

The campus is bringing together international experts and thinkers to discuss how to make cities (1) more socially inclusive and engaging (2) affordable, equitable and inclusive (3) economically vibrant and inclusive and (4) safe, healthy and promoting well-being – the key principles of the World Urban Campaign's "The City We Need".

Speakers will include politicians, NGOs, the voluntary sector, the private sector, academics, community workers and practitioners in housing, planning, built environment, education and economic development.

Crucially, UTC will explore the growing gap between city-fringe and city-centre communities and will bring some tested solutions to the problem. For example, in the host city Belfast, the city council and the city university are joining hands to better integrate these communities through, for example, providing new private and student housing.

Save the dates 31 May to 2 June - members go for free

RTPI members can attend this thought-provoking event for free.  You can find the detailed program as well as the list of speakers and chairs here.
