Party conferences hear planning message

22 October 2014

The RTPI held very successful invite-only policy breakfasts and lunch time debates at the recent Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrats party conferences in September and October.

The six RTPI events are now a regular feature at the party conferences and regularly attract some of the best attendances. The topics for discussion this year were 'Where next‎ for planning?' and 'How can planning help deliver the infrastructure we need?' Each event was chaired by a member of the RTPI Presidential team.

The policy breakfasts were again kindly sponsored by Savills and for the afternoon events we partnered with the Chartered Institute for Highways and Transportation. RTPI Head of Communications, Tino Hernandez, said: “This activity is an important part of the Institute's annual programme of influencing, along with the work we do with politicians in Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland”.
