Dr Peter Geraghty elected to as Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers

01 May 2014

Dr Peter Geraghty, Immediate past President of the RTPI, has been elected to the prestigious position of Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).

Formed in 1925 the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) is a leading body for professionals specialising in the design, construction, evaluation and maintenance of building construction. Its members practise across the United Kingdom, mainland Europe and around the World, and work in both the private and public sectors. The CABE provides the prime qualification of Building Engineer.

Fellowship of the Association is the senior grade within the Association and reflects a person's knowledge, expertise, experience and their position within the industry. It is awarded to members working in a senior position of professional responsibility within an organisation have no less than five years’ experience at that level.

Dr Peter Geraghty said:

"I am delighted to have been made a Fellow of the Association which represents professionals in the built environment including those specialising in the design, construction, evaluation and maintenance of buildings. The Association is strongly represented in both the private and public sector and as a senior manager responsible for delivering a range of public services including transport, planning and building control I feel Fellowship is a recognition of the  breadth of skills that chartered planners have in management and in the wider role of place-making.”
