Reshuffle news relevant to planners

A Government reshuffle is underway (and a reshuffle of the Opposition frontbench is also anticipated). This page will reflect the reshuffle news that is of immediate relevence to planners and planning.

Communities and Local Government

Out:

Liberal Democrat MP in the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Rt Hon Don Foster MP, is promoted to be the LibDem’s Chief Whip.

Mark Prisk MP, formerly the housing minister, returns to the backbenches.

In:

LibDem Stephen Williams MP, Conservative Kris Hopkins MP and Baroness Stowell join DCLG as Parliamentary Under Secretaries.

Other appointments of interest

Rt Hon Greg Clark MP (Minister for Cities) is moved from the Treasury to the Cabinet Office, retaining his responsibilities for Cities and gaining constitutional issues.

Baroness Kramer takes over from Norman Baker MP at the Department of Transport.

George Eustice MP takes on the fisheries, flooding, land management, soil & biodiversity briefs in DEFRA.

Opposition reshuffle

Emma Reynolds MP takes over the shadow housing portfolio from Jack Dromey MP.
