Launch of new neighbourhood planning fund

01 May 2013

Today Locality launches a new £9.5m programme of expert support and funding to help communities across England to create neighbourhood plans.

Groups can apply for expert advice to support them through the process,
and a grant of up to £7,000, to create their own neighbourhood plan and
shape development in their local area.

The Supporting Communities in Neighbourhood Planning programme is being run by Locality in association with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)/Planning Aid England (PAE) and its partners on behalf of the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

The programme runs for two years until 2015. For full details see the My
Community Rights website or the DCLG website.

Locality’s and RTPI/PAE’s partners are: the Community Development Foundation, Urban Vision Enterprise, the Eden Project and URS.
