RTPI gives evidence at the Transport Select Committee

07 December 2010

Richard Summers, the RTPI's senior vice president, today (7 December) gave evidence at the Transport Select Committee on their inquiry on Transport and the Economy.

Richard gave evidence alongside Professor Roger Vickerman of the University of Kent and Councillor Peter Box CBE representing the Local Government Association, and strongly made the case for better integration of transport investment, economic development and planning, the need for strategic investment in transport infrastructure and the need for decisions to be made at the appropriate level.

Richard said: "All major transport investment provides a catalyst for economic growth and that needs in some areas support from positive economic development policies."
